Center for Jewish Learning

the Center for Jewihs Learning is designed with a commitment to Jewish studies and to the St. Louis Jewish community. We are committed to:

  • Education across denominational lines with an inclusive, yet pluralistic ideology.
  • Serving the Jewish educational needs of the entire adult community.
  • Providing a variety of courses based on student request.
  • The use of Jewish texts as the tool in guiding us in providing the education.
  • Hearing your voice in the course of the classroom discussions.
  • We welcome all adults who would like to study with their peers in a pluralistic user-friendly, intellectually stimulating atmosphere. The course topics range from Talmud, Bible, and Jewish Literature and history to Yiddish, Biblical Hebrew and Conversational Hebrew.

A word from our Director...

We invite you to take this opportunity to read through our course guide for adult education classes and programs that will be offered this year. We have worked hard to present a spectacular line-up of courses.

We offer a unique selection of courses, nearly all without pre-requisites, for adults with varied interests and backgrounds.  All classes are taught by experienced teachers who welcome and value every Jewish learner.  Whether you are a newcomer to adult Jewish study, a seasoned veteran, or someone in-between, you are certain to find a course that will suit your needs and interests.  We welcome you to come learn with us here at CAJE.  We promise that you will feel “at home.”

 You will find information regarding:

  • Adult Jewish education courses
  • Special Learning Events
  • Hebrew Courses

We offer a wide variety of Hebrew courses.  If you are looking for a Hebrew course and you are having a hard time determining which course might be right for you, please call.  We are prepared to assist you in finding the “right fit.”  The faculty is available to discuss your skills and interests.

As you begin to plan your activities, we hope that adult educational opportunities will be a part of your planning process.  We welcome you to come learn and grow with us!  Please call me at (314) 442-3754 or e-mail me at clevy@jfedstl.org with any questions.  All of the enclosed information and updates can be found on-line at this web site and at Jewish Federation of St. Louis.
